How to add configure and customize the Divi Post Carousel Module.

Adding a post carousel is really simple with the post carousel module. The module allows you to add a carousel of posts anywhere in the Divi theme.

Below is a detailed rundown of what you will find inside each tab of the module’s settings and an explanation of what each one does.

The Post Carousel Module Content Settings

The post carousel module’s content tab is organized into the following groups of settings.

Content

This is where you can set the content settings for the Post Carousel module. There are several options in the toggle to change what content the carousel shows.

Post Count

You can change the total number of posts the carousel will load here. This is different from the Slides Count option in Elements toggle. That only changes the number of slides on each page.

Image Size

You can select the image size for the featured image using this select box. The plugin does not generate any additional images for use in the slider. Instead there are 6 predefined options that you can choose from.

  • thumbnail : This it the thumbnail size generated by WordPress. It value is set at WordPrerss Settings > Dashboard > Media.
  • medium : This it the medium size generated by WordPress. It value is set at WordPrerss Settings > Dashboard > Media.
  • large : This it the large size generated by WordPress. It’s value is set at WordPrerss Settings > Dashboard > Media.
  • full : This will load the featured images in their full size without cropping them.
  • et-pb-post-main-image : This is a 1080×675 image. This is also the image size that loads in the Divi Blog module in Fullwidth layout.
  • et-pb-post-main-image-fullwidth : This is a 400×284 image. It is also the image that loads in the Divi Blog module in the Grid layout.

Include Categories (Pro)

You can select which categories should show in the post carousel module here. It will show a list of all the categories available on your website.

Post Offset (Pro)

You can enter the number here to offset any number of posts. If you enter 1 then the first post will skipped. If you enter 2 then the first 2 posts will be skipped.

Excerpt Length (Pro)

You can set the excerpt length in this option. It will trim the excerpt for the post to the number of characters entered here. A thing to note here is that this option trims the characters. It does not trim words.

Button Text (Pro)

You can enter your custom button text here. The default text on the button is Read More.

Elements

This setting group contains a lot of options for the elements in the post carousel module.

Slides Count

You can set the number of slides to show in the carousel. If the Post Count is set to 9 and Slides Count is set to 4 then you will see 4 slides at first and the rest of posts will be accessed after pressing the arrow icon.

Slides Scroll

This controls how many slides to scroll. If you set it to 1 then the carousel will move only one post forward when the arrow icon is pressed or on autoplay. If it is set to 2 then it will move 2 posts forward when the arrow is clicked.

Show Dots

You can controls if you want to show dots in the post carousel.

Show Arrows

You can control if you want to show arrows in the post carousel

Show Title (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the title of the posts in the carousel.

Show Featured Image (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the feature image in the carousel.

Show Excerpt (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the excerpt for the posts in the carousel.

Show Author (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the author information inside the post meta.

Show Date (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the date for the posts inside the post meta.

Show Categories (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the list of categories inside the post meta.

Show Comments (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the comment count inside the post meta.

Show Button (Pro)

This option can be used to turn on or turn off the read more button for the posts in the carousel.

The Post Carousel Module Design Settings

The post carousel module’s design settings have been grouped into the following dropdown toggles under the design tab.

Layout

This toggle contains the settings for the layout of the carousel.

Adaptive Height

This controls the adaptive for the slider when the slide count is set to 1. When set to Yes the height of the carousel changes with each slide.

Arrow Location

You can set the location of the Arrows here. You can show the arrows on the sides of the carousel on the top of the carousel or the bottom of the carousel.

Arrow Alignment

You can set the alignment for the arrows here. When the Arrow Location is set to sides you can show the arrows at the top, center or bottom. When Arrow Location is set to Top or Bottom then you can choose between left, center and right.

Carousel Elements

This settings group contains the design settings for some carousel elements.

Arrow Color

You can set the color for the arrows using this option.

Arrow Background

You can set the background color for the arrows using this option.

Dots Color

You can set the color for the dots using this option.

Carousel Animation

This setting group contains the animation settings for the post carousel.

Autoplay

This option controls if the carousel will move to the next slide automatically after some time.

Pause On Hover

When this is set to YES the autopaly animation will not work while the mouse is hovered over the carousel.

Automatic Animation

You can set the animation speed for the autoplay using this option. If it is set to 2000ms then the carousel will move to next slide every 2 seconds.

Slide Animation

You can set the amount of time it takes to play the animation. If it is set to 5000ms then the animation of moving the slides when the arrow is clicked will take 5 seconds.

Infinite Animation

You can set if the carousel should have an infinite animation using this option. When this is set to YES the first slide comes after the last slide again.

Image

This setting group contains the Featured Image Rounded Corners, Featured Image Border Styles and Featured Image Box Shadow options. They are not explained in detail individually as they work the same way as they do in other Divi modules. Any settings you change here will get applied to the featured image in the carousel.

Post Styles

This setting group contains the Post Rounded Corners, Post Border Styles and Post Box Shadow options. They are not explained in detail individually as they work the same way as they do in other Divi modules. Any settings you change here will get applied to the individual posts in the post carousel.

Post Title Text.

This setting group contains the styling and design options for Post Title text.

Excerpt Text.

This setting group contains the styling and design options for Excerpt text.

Button

This setting group contains the styling and design options for the read more button.
